I started out as a male cam model and I'm looking for advice on how to make this job my main source of income. I started like 2 weeks ago, spent many days in live mode - I managed to make about 300 dollars. I thought it was a small progress because in my opinion other cam models earn several times more.
Is this a problem for all newbies or am I doing something wrong? If I start doing social media, will it give some result to promote my Chaturbate account, maybe I can get into some top ranking? Any other thoughts? Or are male models not in demand?
First off, don’t compare yourself to other models, especially the bigger, well-known ones! A lot of those top models have spent years building their brand and community, pouring in tons of time and energy.
You’re just starting out, taking your first steps into this exciting world. Comparing yourself to them can seriously crush your confidence, and it’s tough to thrive when you’re feeling down, right?
So, focus on your journey and your goals! That’s what really matters! If you’re thinking about going full-time with camming, I’d suggest doing some calculations.
You already know how many hours you worked to earn that $300. Use that as your average hourly rate and figure out how many hours you need to work to cover your bills and save a little extra. Then, make those hours your target. Once you’ve got that number, aim to boost your pay-per-hour rate.
Stay consistent with your camming, and don’t be afraid to experiment with different times. Some models do better in the evenings, while others kill it in the mornings. The more you’re online, the more chances people have to discover you. Every hour on cam equals potential new customers.
Compete with yourself. Track your own progress. That’s what really counts. Set your goals, smash through them, raise the bar, and keep going!
